Villa Måsholmen is a copper-roofed residential project, built for a family as a country retreat on an island in the Archipelago of Stockholm, Sweden.
The house was designed by Studio Nina Kummelstedt
The owners expressed their wishes for a house that would blend in to its setting and its surrounding nature, built with sustaining materials that age beautifully with time and through the sometimes harsh weather conditions.
The colour fluctuation of the pre-oxidized copper corresponds beautifully to that of the tree trunks of the pine trees that dominate the island.
The copper detailing is being used around and in-between windows and bay windows, linking the two versions of window design.
